Van Doren's Landing

The intent of the Van Doren’s Landing project was to bring the majesty of nearby Mt Rainier into this new public playground. IDS studied features known to climbers to recreate them at kid scale. To achieve the mass of the mountain, IDS employed a first of its kind hybrid approach, combining surfaced landforms with sculpted rock features, slides, and accessible paths.
